Congress releases list of 15 candidates for 2019 polls


New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday released the first list of 15 candidates from Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat for the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

According to the AICC press release, the candidates were selected by the Congress Central Election Committee for the ensuing elections.

While party chief Rahul Gandhi will contest the elections from Amethi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi will contest from Rae Bareli.

The Congress also announced candidates for Vadodara and Anand constituencies in Gujarat which are BJP strongholds. The party has fielded Prashant Patel for Vadodara from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

Similarly, senior party leader Bharatsinh Solanki will contest the Anand seat and  Annu Tandon will contest the election from Unnao in Uttar Pradesh.
