Congress appoints Supriya Shrinate as spokesperson of AICC


New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday appointed Supriya Shrinate as the spokesperson of All India Congress Committee (AICC).

Earlier, in March, the Congress party had replaced jailed politician Amarmani Tripathi’s daughter Tanushree Tripathi with Delhi-based journalist Supriya Srinate as its Lok Sabha candidate from Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh.

Supriya Shrinate started her career at the India Today Group as a reporter and later joined NDTV as assistant editor.

She switched to ET Now in 2008 and remained one of the chief editors there till March 29, 2019, when she resigned from her position to contest the polls.

Supriya has interviewed many eminent world leaders, from Paul Krugman to IMF chairwoman Christine Lagarde.
