Cuttack: Indian women’s team clinched a gold in the team event of the ongoing Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium here on Friday.
The women’s team defeated England in the finals to clinch the yellow metal. Earlier in the day, the team had defeated Singapore in the semi-finals.
The Indian women’s team defeated Wales, Malaysia, and Nigeria by an identical 3-0 margin to enter the last-four from Group F of the Super Eight round.
Indian men and women were the first to book their semifinal slots after winning their Super Eights group matches.
