Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Tuesday issued traffic advisory for smooth movement of vehicular traffic as well as pedestrians on the eve of Maha Shivaratri at Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar on March 8.
On the eve of Maha Shivaratri, a large number of devotees coming from different parts of the state and outside the state will visit Lord Lingaraj. Special arrangements have been made to celebrate this festival in a peaceful manner. Along with this, emphasis has been given on the traffic system so that there is no problem in the movement of devotees. For this purpose, under the supervision of DCP Pratik Singh, 5 additional DCPs, 14 ACPs, 21 inspectors, 84 SI/ASI, 45 APR constables, 48 OR police personnel, 93 section force and 112 house guard forces have been deputed.
By virtue of power conferred U/s 28 of Odisha urban Police Act 2003 (Odisha Act 8 of 2007) and in pursuance of regulation 21, 36, & 37 of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public order) regulations 2008, it is hereby notified that the following regulation arebeing imposed for smooth flow of vehicular traffic, non congestion and non hindrance to Pedestrians on the eve of Malta Shivaratri to be celebrated at Shree Lingaraj Temple on 08.03.2024. The regulation shall be effective from midnight of 07.03.2024.
1. The vehicles (four Wheeler & two wheeler) coming to Lingraj Temple from Rath road and Punama gate side shall be diverted from Badheibanka square (Muna Medical store) towards BM High school ground for parking. No heavy vehicles shall be allowed to ply on Ratha road from Mausima Square side.
2. Vehicles (All types) coming to Lingaraj Temple from Ravi Talkies & Museum side may park their vehicles at vacate place near Sanatorium Chhak.
3. The vehicles (three wheelers) coming to Shree Lingaraj temple from Samantarapur & Garage Chhak side shall be allowed to park at available space near rear side of Ananta Basudev temple.
4. The vehicles (Four Wheelers & two Wheelers) coming to Shree Linagaraj temple from Samanatrapur and Garage chhak side shall be allowed to park their vehicles at available open space in front BMC market complex. If, required the vehicles coming from Garage Chhak side may be allowed to park at available space near Purbeswar temple.
5. The vehicles coming from Keuta Sahi side towards Shree Lingaraj temple shall be diverted from Kedar lane to BMC market complex/Ananta Basudev parking and other designated parking places via- sub-station square.
6. The vehicles coming from Tara Sundari road towards Shree Lingaraj Temple shall not be allowed up to Badheibanka Chhak and shall be diverted from Municipality Hospital to BM High School ground for parking.
7. The vehicles of invitees/Govt. Officials coming on Rath Road may take diversion at Badheibanka square towards dedicated parking areas listed below via- Municipality Hospital road.
