Bhubaneswar: In order to regulate parking and ensure the free flow of vehicular traffic, the Commissionerate Police today issued an advisory for the public warning not to their vehicle on predominantly congested stretches of road.
The CP further advised the public to park their vehicles in designated parking spaces or away from the main carriageway (road).
“Violation of the instant order is an offence and punishable U/s 177 of the MV Act – 2019 and compoundable with fine of Rs. 500/. Violation of the above order will also attract section 127 of the MV Act-2019 which authorises a police officer having jurisdiction to tow a vehicle causing impediment to the flow of traffic and when such a vehicle is towed, the owner of the vehicle shall be responsible for all towing costs, besides any other penalty,” the notice read.
In the first phase the law will strictly be implemented in the following stretches:-
- Rajbhawan chhak to Kalarahanga chhak.
- Airport to NALCO chhak.
- Sishubhawan chhak to Vanivihar.
- Rasulgarh chhak to Jaydev Vihar.
- Sriya chhak to PHD office.
Taking to the Twitter, Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi said: “We are increasing enforcement relating to parking violations. Drivers & Vehicle owners may please note. Violators will have to pay fine & cost of towing by crane. All are requested to be alert & please cooperate.
