Cold Wave Grips Odisha, Phulbani Records 7 Degree C

Bhubaneswar: Odisha continued to reel under cold wave with Phulbani in Kandhamal district registering a low of 7 degree Celsius, according to India Meteorological Department (IMD).

While Phulbani recorded a minimum temperature of 7 degrees Celsius, the lowest in the state, the mercury in picturesque Daringbadi in the mountainous district dropped to 10 degrees Celsius, the MeT officials said.

Similarly, Koraput recorded a minimum temperature of 10.2, followed by Nabarangpur-10.5, Kirei (Sundargarh district)- 9.5, Sundargarh-11, Bolangir-11.3, Bhawanipatna-11.6, Deogarh and Keonjhar-12, Jharsuguda-12.1, Sonepur-12.2, Balasore-12. 4, Angul-12.6, Bargarh, Nayagarh and Malkangiri-13.5, Jajpur and Sambalpur-13.7 degree C.

While capital city Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum (night) temperature of 14.5 degree C, Cuttack remained at 12.6 degree C.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar also forecast that the minimum temperature in the city will remain unchanged over the next 2-3 days.
