Bhubaneswar: There was no let-up in the cold wave sweeping in Odisha on Monday, with Phulbani reeling the lowest 5 degrees Celsius.
A thick blanket of fog enveloped the state in the morning, reducing visibility levels, Meteorological department officials here said.
As per the weather update of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), dense fog condition was reported from Daringbadi, Koraput, Angul and Paradip while Chandbali, Puri, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Nayagarh and Talcher experienced shallow to moderate fog.
Similarly, the mercury (minimum/night temperature) has reportedly dipped in most of the districts of the State.
In the last 24 hours, temperature in four places was recorded below 11 degrees Centigrade, as per the IMD.
While Phulbani recorded the lowest 5 degrees Centigrade, IMD predicted that the minimum/night temperature is likely to plummet further by 2 to 3 degrees Centigrade in most of the places in interior Odisha.
It has also been predicted that the temperature is unlikely to change in the next two days while coastal Odisha is expected to have normal temperature.
