Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday announced a rent waiver of Rs 61 lakh of the Odisha Bhawan at Navi Mumbai, which was being used as a quarantine facility for doctors and health workers of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).
The State government has waived off an amount of Rs 61,05,000 payable by the Navi Mumbai Corporation (NMC) towards the stay of its doctors and nurses at the Odisha Bhawan in Mumbai who were engaged in providing treatment to Covid patients.
Doctors and nurses of the NMC had occupied 8 rooms and a dormitory on the fourth floor of Odisha Bhawan for over 7 months from 12 April 2021 to 27 November 2021 and were providing treatment against Covid. The Odisha government has waived off the amount towards this.
Worth mentioning, that earlier too the Odisha government had waived off Rs 2,0016,000 payable by NMC during the first wave of Covid.
