CM Naveen, Dharmendra Pradhan Greet Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal On His Birthday

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan extended birthday wishes to Odisha Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal as he turned 79 today.

Taking to Twitter, the Odisha CM Naveen wrote: “Warm wishes to Hon’ble @GovernorOdisha Prof. Ganeshi Lal on birthday. May Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath bless you with good health and long life.”

Similarly, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also greeted Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal on his birthday. “Congratulations to the Governor of Odisha @GovernorOdisha Prof Ganeshi Lal on his birthday,” Pradhan wrote on Twitter. Pradhan also prayed for his good health.

Prof Ganeshi Lal was born on 1 March 1942 in Sirsa, Haryana. After finishing his education, he contributed to the academic profession. From 1964 to 1990, he worked as a professor in various government colleges of Haryana. In 1975-76, he had to go to jail for protesting the national emergency situation. He then started working as a mathematics teacher in a college.

In 1990, Prof. Ganeshi Lal resigned from the post of teacher. In 1996, he contested and won from Sirsa assembly seat. After this, Ganeshi Lal worked as a minister in the cabinet of Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal. At that time he had held many important departments like labour and employment, food supply, excise etc.

From 29th May 2018, Prof. Ganeshi Lal has been serving as the Governor of Odisha. His Excellency the Governor, besides being a politician, he is also very fond of writing. His book ‘Nonattached Attachment’ based on Bhagavad Gita is quite a popular book.

It is worth mentioning here that even after becoming the Governor of Odisha, Prof. Ganeshi Lal always stay connected with people. Along with visiting various places, he always remains ready to listen to the problems of the people and take necessary actions to solve the issues.
