Close shave for CRPF jawans; landmine diffused

Malkangiri: A team of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans had a close shave as a landmine, suspected to have been planted by Maoists, was recovered from Nippa forest under Sukma district of Chhattisgarh today.

The CRPF team was sent to the spot to defuse the landmine.

Following this, the explosive was detected and successfully diffused.

Following the detection of the landmine, security forces have intensified combing operations in the region.

Meanwhile, it is being suspected that the landmine was planted by extremists targeting civilians or security forces or both.
