Washington: In a latest report over climate change, the US government has said the economy could lose hundreds of billions of dollars by the end of the century.
The study entitled “Fourth National Climate Assessment”, said the global average temperature is much higher. Day by day it is increasing and it will have devastating impact on the climate.
The report was put together with the help of 1,000 people, including 300 leading scientists of the country. This was the second volume of the study. The first volume was released in November 2017.
The Trump administration said the cost of climate change could reach hundreds of billions of dollars annually. The report said the Southeast of the country alone will probably lose over half a billion labour hours by 2100 due to extreme heat.
The agrarian community will face extremely tough time even as the quality and quantity of their crops will decline across the US.
The dairy production will come down over the next 12 years in the US, the report said
