Cleanliness-cum-plantation drive continues successfully in Deogarh


Deogarh: With an aim to build a clean, healthy and beautiful Deogarh, the district administration continued the cleanliness-cum-plantation drive today.

The simultaneous drives are being conducted every month on the third week Sunday to keep the environmental surroundings neat and tidy.

The campaign was intensified today with at least one member from each house in the district taking part in the drive.

Under the direct supervision of Deogarh Collector Sudhansu Mohan Samal, the cleanliness-cum-plantation drive was simultaneously conducted and scores of locals including club members, self-help groups and members of Biju Yuva Bahini participated in the noble initiative and cleaned up the roads, temples, educational institutions, grounds, etc.

The drive was reportedly carried out in 24 areas in Deogarh town and villages in 70 panchayats in the district.

In Deogarh’s Pourangcha muncipality area the sub-Collector along with four other district level officers were deployed. Similarly, district rural development project director along with eight others were given the responsibility of Barakot block. ADM and seven other officials have been posted to keep a vigil on Riamal block. On the other hand, the assistant director of the district rural development project and seven officers will supervise the smooth conduct of the drive-in Tileibani.

Notably, the cleanliness-cum-plantation drive was launched on the third Sunday of August (August 18).

The initiative of the Deogarh administration to make the district clean, healthy and beautiful has drawn praise from different spheres.
