Class VII student buried alive for Rs 500, probe on
Paradip: Police has begun a probe into a case in which a Class VII boy student of Zillanasi village in Paradip was allegedly buried till his neck in the river bed for Rs 500.
As per sources, the minor boy levelled allegations that he was gagged and later buried in a hole alive up to the neck in the river bed by another student of the same school on Wednesday. However, the accused freed the boy after he paid Rs 500.
Meanwhile, the accused student has denied the allegation. But, he accepted that he did assault his classmate.
Acting on the complaint lodged by the victim, police initiated an investigation into the matter. Besides this, cops also questioned the victim, the accused, and their respective family members on Saturday.
Though police visited the spot yesterday, they failed to find any trace of burial. Further probe into the incident is underway, said Kujang IIC Dilip Sahu.
