Bangiriposhi: Police on Wednesday arrested nine persons from Joka village under Budha Khamari panchayat relating to violent clash over land dispute. They were forwarded to court.
Police said one person was severely injured and being treated at the hospital.
Reports said four decimal land was awarded in the name of Chhita Hansda, wife of Srimola Hansda, by Tehsil on 2003. But, the said piece of the land was encroached upon by Chaitanya Murmu and eight others.
The enraged encroachers attacked Srimola and his family with sticks and injured them severely. They were sent to Pandit Raghunath Murmu hospital at Baripada.
Police sources said as many as six persons involved in the crime are absconding and a manhunt is on to nab them.
