Beijing: China on Sunday reported first death due to Covid-19 in nearly six months. Following this, the authorities imposed new restrictions in Beijing.
As per the restrictions, schools have been moved online, offices and restaurants in the city’s most populous district, Chaoyang, were shut down and residents urged to avoid going out unless necessary.
Beijing reported 516 new infections until 3pm on Sunday. Meanwhile, the new death brought the total death toll in China to 5,227 with previous deaths being reported from Shanghai.
