China Open: PV Sindhu crashes out of tournament in the quarters


Fuzhou: Indian shuttler PV Sindhu crashed out of the China Open Super 750 after being defeated n the quarterfinal match in Fuzhou in China on Friday.

Sindhu lost her match to He Bingjiao of China in the sets of 17-21, 21-17, 15-21. This is her third straight loss to Bingjiao.

While Sindhu lost the first game at 17-21, she made a comeback in the second game with 21-17 but lost the final and crucial set to the Chinese player with a score of 15-21.

With the 17-21, 21-17, 15-21 loss to Bingjiao in an hour and 9 minutes, Sindhu now trails 5-8 in their head-to-head record on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour.

Later in the day, Kidambi Srikanth will be up against Denmark Open winner Chou Tien Chen while men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be up against former world No.1 Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan.
