Bhubaneswar: Police here have rescued as many as four minor boys from a bread factory in the state capital today.
According to available information, the children, all aged between 14 and 15 years were engaged at a bread factory of one Manoj Gauda in the Pallaspali area as labourers.
Acting on the tip-off, the anti-human trafficking unit along with the police raided the factory and rescued the minors.
Sources said, the minors came to Bhubaneswar for work due to poverty as well as the closure of schools. They were getting Rs 4,000 per month at the factory.
While a case in this connection has been lodged against the owner of the bread factory, the children were sent to Ruchika Open Shelter.
