Rourkela: Police on Thursday claimed to have nabbed the accused involved in kidnapping a five-year-old boy in Rourkela city and selling him for Rs 1 lakh.
Reportedly, four persons including three women were arrested on charges of abducting the minor boy.
Meanwhile, the child was rescued and handed over his family.
The accused have been identified as Ashraf Ali from Birajapalli, Santoshi Naik from Kendrapara, Nirmala Das from Gopabandhupalli in Rourkela city, and buyer Manuar Bibi from Rehmat Nagar in Medinipur.
According to sources, the child had been abducted from the railway station area of the city on December 4 by a youth named Sheik Babu. Babu then sold the child to two women named Santoshi Nayak and Nirmala Das. Later, Santoshi and Nirmala travelled to the Medinipur and sold the child to Manhar Biwi.
