Chief Secy meets with World Bank representatives over handicraft development


Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi and Development Commissioner R Balakrishnan today met World Bank representatives here at the state secretariat and discussed for overall development in the field of handicraft and artisans.

An investment proposal of Rs 460 crore has been sought from the World Bank under UTKARSH- Odisha Skill Development and Rural Employment Project.

According to government figures, a total of 49,123 weavers and 45425 artisans are covered under life insurance scheme while solar lantern were provided to 43908 weaver families and 42419 artisan families in Odisha.
