Champua: Forest officials of Champua range on Wednesday arrested three mining mafia and seized the truck used for smuggling of iron ore from forest location.
Officials said that the smugglers were excavating iron ore from Malda which comes under in Bamebari forest section under Keonjhar forest division. Champua forest range officer Sanjiv Kumar Rout said the iron ore was being loaded on to a 14-wheeler truck.
The arrested persons belong to West Bengal, Balasore and Jharkhand, Rout said and added that forester Jatin Kumar Sahu, forest guard Hrushi Patra and staff the squad were involved in the operation to nab the smugglers.
