Central team in FANI-hit Bhubaneswar to assess damage


Bhubaneswar: The inter-ministerial Central team will today visit the areas under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and will assess the damage caused by Cyclone FANI.

Reportedly, the nine-member team led by Ministry of Home Affairs Joint Secretary Vivek Bhardwaj along with the officials of Sports department is assessing the damage at the Kalinga Stadium. Later, the team will visit the areas under Kalinga Vihar and Rasulgarh.

After the assessment of the damage, the Central team will hold a meeting with the State Chief Secretary and senior state government officials later in the day.

Earlier on May 13 and 14, the team had visited the worst affected Puri, Khurda and Cuttack districts to assess the widespread damage caused by Cyclone FANI.

After assessing the cyclone-affected areas in the State, a meeting is scheduled to be held at the state secretariat on November 2 where the team will submit its detailed report of the damage assessment.
