Bhubaneswar: A central team from Union Home Ministry (MHA) reached on Sunday to visit Cyclone Yaas affected areas in Odisha.
The 7-member team led by Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs Sunil Kumar Barnwal will hold meetings with the officials of Disaster Management and assess the damages caused due to the cyclone.
The team that comprises of 4 Odia officers will visit four cyclone-affected districts for two days to review damages incurred by Cyclone Yaas.
After reviewing the post-cyclone situation in the state, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday asked the concerned authorities to document various measures which were taken during the restoration work and also advised them to make a note of the issues related to damage caused by the cyclone.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra briefed the report on the damages caused by cyclones in the state. While other departments of the state government also submitted their reports regarding the damages caused by the cyclone, the affected district collectors also submitted their post- cyclone reports.
