Cement trader shot dead over past enmity in Ganjam


Ganjam: A cement trader was shot dead by unidentified miscreants over past enmity at Mathasarasinga area under Kodala police limits here last evening.

The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Parida (37) of J. Chachina village. He was working as a cement trader in Gujarat and had returned to home 15 days ago.

According to sources, at around 7 pm some miscreants attacked Parida on his head and then shot him. Parida died on the spot.

On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body for post-mortem. Later, Parida’s family members a lodged a complaint with the police in this regard.

It is suspected that Parida might have been murdered over past enmity. Further investigation is on, the police said.
