Carcass of baby elephant recovered from Choudwar forest
Cuttack: The Forest department officials have recovered the carcass of a baby elephant from Jamana village under Talijoda forest range in Cuttack district today.
According to sources, some locals spotted the carcass of the baby elephant, believed to be one-month-old, this morning and alerted the matter to the forest department officials.
Later, the forest personnel reached the spot and launched a probe into the matter.
While a detailed investigation into the matter is underway, the preliminary probe suggests that the baby jumbo might have been killed after being crushed by a herd of elephants on Tuesday night.
