Nuapada: One person died in a head-on collision between a car and a bike near Negipali Chhak under Beltukuri police station in Nuapada district on Monday.
According to information, this morning a Ford car was en route from Khariar Road towards the Bhaleshwar Panchayat Office when the vehicle hit a motorcycle near Negipalli head-on.
As a result, the one of motorcyclists died on the spot another was seriously injured. The police informed that the injured person was referred to another hospital from the District HQ Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Bariha and the injured as Balkumar Bariha. Both of them are from the neighbouring state of Chhattisgarh.
Locals rescued the injured man and sent him to Basta Hospital for treatment.
Later, Beltukuri police seized the mangled vehicles from the spot and conducted further investigation.
