Cabinet Nods For Centenary Celebration Of Mahatma Gandhi’s Maiden Odisha Visit

Bhubaneswar: The State government has decided to organise year-long grand celebrations from March 23, 2021, to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s maiden Odisha visit.

Mahatma Gandhi is the eternal source of inspiration for all of us. He visited Odisha eight times during the period 1921-1946. He arrived in Odisha for the first time on March 23, 1921, and had addressed a historic gathering on the river bed of Kathajodi in Cuttack.

To make this memorable, the state government has decided to organize year-long grand celebrations from March 23, 2021.

This centenary celebration will certainly inspire the people of Odisha, especially our youth, on the ideals, and principles of Mahatma, and above all his mantra of Ahimsa and the magnitude of his greatness, said the Cabinet members.
