Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India on Friday released the schedule for the by-election to the Council of States from Odisha.
The ECI stated in its notification that the polling will be held from 9 am to 4 pm on June 13 and counting will take place at 5 pm on the same day.
The ECI has ordered the completion of the entire election process by June 17.
The last date for filing nominations is June 2 while the scrutiny of the papers will be conducted on June 3. Similarly, the last date of withdrawal of candidatures has been scheduled for June 6, the notification read.
The ECI has directed Odisha Chief Secretary to depute a senior officer from the state to ensure that the extant instructions regarding COVID-19 containment measures are complied with while making arrangements for conducting the by-election.
