New Delhi: Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu is all set to start her campaign at the BWF World Tour Finals which begins from Wednesday.
Sindhu will face a tough challenge in the tournament, as she has been clubbed with defending Champion Akane Yamaguchi of Japan, World no.1 Tai Tzu Ying of Chineses Taipei and United States’ Beiwen Zhang in Group A.
Till now Sindhu has been the most impressive players among the Indian shuttlers to claim silver medals at all the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, and World Championship, besides finishing runner-up at the India Open and Thailand Open.
Apart from Sindhu, Sameer Verma who defended his title at Syed Modi International last month has been put alongside Kento Momota of Japan, Indonesia’s Tommy Sugiarto and Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen.
Two players from each group will qualify for the semifinals clash.
