Budget Session: Odisha Governor lauds govt’s efforts to serve people better

Bhubaneswar: Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal has addressed the Budget Session of Odisha Assembly on Friday. The session will continue till April 9 in two phases.

The address began with tributes to martyrs and leaders.

The Governor, in his address, lauded the efforts of the state government to serve the people of Odisha through Mo Sarkar.

The 5Ts initiative of the government to bring the administration closer to the people was highly appreciated by the Governor who said this has helped the government to introduce measures on health and education.

The Governor has also appreciated the Kalia scheme which has benefited the farmers immensely. He said the Kalia scheme has also benefited the students through scholarships.

The Governor said the state government has focused on the promotion of Sri Jagannath culture. A beautification drive of Sri Mandir has been initiated, Prof Lal said and added that steps were also taken for beautification of Sri Lingaraj temple.

The Governor said the government has taken measures to provide world-class healthcare facilities in SCB Medical College and Hospital. The patients are provided with free medicine and healthcare facilities, he added.

Odisha Governor dwelt up generation of employment opportunities in the state and added that this has been geared up through MSME.

On food security measures, the Governor said five kgs of rice is being provided to the people so that no one goes through the ordeal of privation.

The Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana has been introduced to provide healthcare facilities. The government has decided to open public-private directorate in the state.
