The band had stated during a live, “We have prepared a new single for ARMY, set for Aug. 21. We are preparing an album for the second half of this year, but decided to first release a single because we wanted to reach our fans as soon as possible.”
BTS – which consists of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook – previously revealed via a livestream that Dynamite is an upbeat song sung in English.
The release of the single comes after the band released their seventh album Map Of The Soul: 7 in February, which topped the charts in many countries and sold more than 4.1 million copies in their native South Korea, making it the best-selling album in the country’s history.
BTS further shared, “The song is upbeat and sung in English, just like ‘MIC Drop’ and ‘Waste It on Me’. We thought that the song sounded perfect as it is in English. We recorded the guide version and felt that the result was something totally new and fresh.”
