New Delhi: State-controlled telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is expected to launch fourth-generation or 4G services within the six months.
BSNL has started the ambitious revival program, following the relief package approved by the Cabinet last month. 36,000 employees have applied for the voluntary retirement scheme (VRS).
In an interaction with ETTelecom’s Muntazir Abbas, BSNL chairman Pravin Kumar Purwar said that the fourth-largest telecom carrier is expected to launch fourth-generation or 4G services within the six months, and is spending Rs 12,000 crore on the next-generation networks.
The management of BSNL and the officers will ultimately have to deliver the services with respect to the customers’ expectations. Enablement of fourth-generation (4G) services is a vital aspect since as a telecom carrier a bouquet of high-speed data services were not provided.
