BSF recovers landmine in Koraput
Koraput: Security forces on Wednesday recovered a landmine from Luguma village under Balera panchayat in Koraput district.
While security arrangements have been beefed up in insurgent-hit areas of the state, the alert BSF personnel recovered the landmine and later diffused the explosive.
As per the officials, the landmine was suspected to be planted by the Maoist in order to disrupt the ensuing elections.
The security officials also stated to have avoided a possible Maoist attack at Lamtaput area in the district, sources said.
Earlier yesterday, two 50-kg landmines were recovered by CRPF personnel during a combing operation in Gajapati district.
