Jharsuguda: Brajarajnagar police on Wednesday arrested three persons including a minor in connection with the fire incident at Hariombihar on January 11.
Those arrested are Rabindra Singh(30), Hariombihar, Blesan Tandi(19), Nuapada and a minor. Superintendent of Police Bikash Chandra Das said the accused were forwarded to court on Wednesday.
Worthwhile to mention that in the fire incident mother, son, daughter and granddaughter of a family were injured severely as the house they were living caught fire. Locals rushed to rescue them and they were shifted to IGH at Rourkela for treatment.
Das told reporters here that greed for property and love marriage angle was responsible for the occurrence of the fire incident.
He said the main accused Rabindra was married to a girl in Kolkata, but his family members had not approved the marriage. Therefore, Rabindra took the decision to take revenge by eliminating them for good.
Das said Rabindra with the help of his associates doused the house with kerosene and set it ablaze. His mother Baljit Kaur(61), brother Rajendra Singh(32), sister Manjit Kaur(36) and niece Ismit Kaur(7) were asleep inside when Rabindra set the house afire with the help of his associates.
The scientific team along with the police officials and sniffer dogs undertook the probe and arrested the accused. Jharsuguda SDPO Kailash Acharya and Brajarajnagar in charge Nalita Modi assisted the team with the probe.
