Mumbai: While Ajay Devgn starrer Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior refused to slow down at the box office, Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak is struggling at the business.
Tanhaji has been trending well on the weekdays as well. Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior earned Rs 12 crore on its first Thursday, making it total box office collection as Rs 119 crore approx. according to Box Office India.
Ajay Devgn’s happiness has doubled since Tanaji was his 100th film and it has broken all records. It is Devgn’s fifth consecutive film to have crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. Tanaji is also 2020’s first film to enter the Rs 100 crore club.
On the other hand, Deepika and Vikrant Massey starrer Chhapaak collected a total of Rs 28 crore after the collection on Thursday, according to Box Office India. It was expected that the film will trend well since it’s Deepika’s first film after her marriage to Ranveer Singh and fans were missing her on the big screen.
Chhapaak is based on the real-life story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Aggarwal. The film also marks Deepika’s first production venture. Meghna and Fox star Studios have also produced the film. The movie has received positive reviews from critics.
