Bombs hurled in Puri villages over fishing in Daya river, five hurt


Puri: Villagers of Naikula Patna and Jagulaipadar under Kanas block in Puri district hurled bombs at each other over a tussle relating to fishing in Daya river.

Reportedly, five persons were injured on Sunday following the incident. All the injured were admitted to Kanas Hospital, police said.

Reports said tension was simmering between the villagers of Jagulaipadar and Naikulapatna over fishing for long. This reached a flashpoint today as both the groups remained adamant on the issue.

IIC of Gadisagada Police Station along with police forces are camping  in the area to maintain law and order.
