Bolangir: Vigilance sleuths today conducted raids at different places including the residence of the In-Charge Secretary of the District Central Cooperative Bank in Bolangir on charges of amassing disproportionate assets.
The accused has been identified as Ashok Mohapatra.
Acting on the allegation against him, a team of the anti-corruption wing on Thursday morning carried out simultaneous raids at four places including his residence.
Sources said verification of several documents and papers relating to the incident is being carried out.
The raids were conducted following allegation against the accused person for amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
On the other hand, Mohapatra has refuted the allegations stating that he had built the houses after he obtained loan from State Bank of India for the same purpose. He also stated that the cash present at his house is for day to day expenses and emergency situations, sources said.
