Bhubaneswar: The mutilated body of a man was found from the riverbank near Uttara works department under Dhauli police limits on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Monday morning.
The identity of the deceased has yet to be established.
According to sources, locals spotted the lifeless body here today morning and immediately alerted the police about the same. On being informed, cops reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.
While a scooter was spotted lying nearby, Prima facie evidence suggested that he might have been murdered.
However, the circumstances that led to the death of the man remained unknown. Besides, cops have registered a case in this connection and initiated an investigation to find out the cause of death and motive behind the murder.
