Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday started the city’s first drive-in vaccination center where people aged above 45 years can get 2nd dose while sitting in a vehicle, without standing in a queue.
400 people will be vaccinated as per the slots allotted to them while 500 slots will be available per day between May 10 and 15, the BMC said.
“As malls, we have always taken pride in being a destination where communities can come together and celebrate occasions.
Today, at Esplanade One Mall, BMC conducted their first ‘drive through’ vaccination drive for those above 45 years of age and for those with disabilities, to get themselves vaccinated in a systematic and hygienic environment of our parking area. We are very thankful to the BMC for choosing our mall as a venue for such an initiative.
With 16 malls across our portfolio, we further invite local municipal corporations across the country to please utilise our safe and sanitized premises for conducting more of such vaccination drives. Until then, we urge everyone to Stay Home and get themselves registered for vaccines as soon as you can,” stated Esplanade Mall official.
