BJP plans big for PM’s visit


Bhubaneswar: As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting the state to grace BJP’s two-day national executive meeting on April 15 and 16, the state unit of the saffron party has made elaborate arrangements including his reception and extending cordial hospitality to the party leaders from outside the state.

While speaking to the media, State BJP General Secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said, “As the Prime Minister is coming here to grace the party’s national executive meeting, he will be accorded a rousing reception on his arrival by over a lakh of people from the rural belt and districts from across the State. Stretching from airport to Janata Maidan, the whole route will be thronged by people behind the barricade for welcoming the Prime Minister. Apart from that, folk, traditional dances and various indigenous art forms of Odisha will be performed and displayed at different spots throughout this route.

On April 16 morning, the Prime Minister will meet the kin of legendary freedom fighters of Odisha and along with them pay rich tributes to the great souls.

Party leaders along with their family members and associates from different States will obviously like to visit Puri for Lord Jagannath’s darshan. As per sources, necessary arrangements have been made for their smooth pilgrimage and tours.

Convening a press meet here on Tuesday, party vice-president Sameer Mohanty briefed in detail about the arrangements while the hoarding, posters and banners, welcome song for the national executive meeting were unveiled.

Meanwhile, a second round of preparatory meeting was also held by the Commissionerate Police here for security arrangements made for the PM’s high profile visit and other VIPs.
