New Delhi: BJP has never promised transferring of Rs 15 lakh into bank accounts in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday said.
Singh said it was promised that action will be taken against black money. Action is being taken against black money, he said.
The Home Minister’s response comes after the opposition parties criticized the BJP for having made “false promises” to woo the people at the hustings.
Singh said bringing back black money from abroad was one of the key issues for 2014 elections and the BJP had promised to crack down on black money stashed in foreign banks.
Political observers have maintained that the saffron party has not made any promise in the manifesto regarding the crack down on black money. The subject also do not find place in the speeches of its leaders, they maintained.
