Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s MLAs on Monday continued their protests on Odisha Assembly premises after staging a walkout from the Odisha Assembly.
According to reports, the legislators of the opposition took the step after the Smitarani Biswal death case was left unheard in the house. They also alleged that they were not allowed to speak anything in regard to the case in the House.
The Leader of Opposition, Pradipta Naik also stated that the four accused persons involved in the mysterious case have been excluded from the case whereas the reason behind the same is unclear. Besides, Naik also stated that the prime accused Rupesh Bhadra has not been booked under IPC Section 302.
The initial protest began inside the House. Later the BJP legislators staged dharna in front of Gandhi statue on Odisha Assembly premises. However, after a few hours, the saffron party members took out a rally to the Raj Bhavan at Bhubaneswar.
The party members are planning to meet the Governor and apprise him of the facts
Notably, Members of the BJP have been repeatedly protesting and demanding a CBI investigation into the Smitarani Biswal death case.
BJP legislators in Odisha on Saturday boycotted proceedings of the Assembly and sat on a ‘dharna’ alleging that they were not allowed to speak inside the House on the “mysterious” death of a woman panchayat officer in Jajpur.
