Kolkata: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of putting up West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee’s posters above the banners of PM Modi.
The allegations from the saffron party has come ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Durgapur in West Bengal to address a mega public gathering.
The BJP rally is scheduled to be held in North 24 Parganas and Durgapur on Saturday.
BJP workers alleged that TMC supporters removed the hoarding and banners announcing the Prime Minister’s visit to the state. They also claimed that a makeshift welcome gate had also been pulled down.
Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Heavy Industries Babul Supriyo claimed that TMC supporters had assaulted BJP workers.
He alleged that a “jungle raj” was prevalent in the state.
