BJD to approach new prez for Odisha’s special category status: Naveen
Berhampur: With the Mahanadi River row still lying unresolved, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said the dispute can be solved by making sincere efforts while addressing the convention of BJD youth wing, Southern region in Berhampur.
Naveen said, the Centre stopped several programmes implemented in Odisha and BJD Government has revived those for the benefit of people. Citing an instance the Chief Minister said, the KBK programme has been introduced as Biju KBK Yojana.
Putting his stance regarding the party’s support to Ram Nath Kovind as presidential candidate, Naveen said after the election for the BJD would place the special status demand before the new President.
The CM mentioned that in the last three years more than 50,000 youths have been given employment opportunities in different sectors. The stage has been set for providing jobs for another 50,000 youths in the next one year.
