BJD activists oppose Union Minister Manoj Sinha ahead of his programme

Bhubaneswar: Scores of BJD activists opposed Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha ahead of his programme at Railway auditorium today protesting the bifurcation of Waltair division of ECoR.

The student’s wing of BJD staged a demonstration in front the Rail auditorium here protesting against bifurcation of Waltair division of East Coast Railway.

The workers of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) and Biju Yuva Janata Dal (BYJD) also opposed the visit of Railway MoS Manoj Sinha to the state.

Earlier, Sinha had clarified that not even a ‘single inch’ of railway lines in Odisha has been given to any other division. He said that the Centre will set up a new railway division under the ECoR at Rayagada so there is no reason to worry over the development.

On the other hand, members of the student and youth wings of the ruling-BJD protested the union minister’s visit to the State on the backdrop of the decision to bifurcate the ECoR.

Hundreds of BJD workers and leaders led by Sanjay Das Burma took out a bike rally last evening and later staged a road blockade at Jaydev Vihar square by burning tyres following which police detained several agitating BJD workers.
