Jharsuguda: A man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a hyva truck at NH-49 under Brajrajnagar police station limits in Jharsuguda district today.
The deceased was identified as Kandharpa Choudhry, an employee of MCL
Reportedly, Kandharpa was returning from his village, when a speeding truck coming from Raigarh, hit his motorcycle, killing him on the spot.
Irked over the mishap, an angry mob staged a road blockade demanding compensation for the family of the deceased.
On receiving information, SDPO, Sub-Collector along with IIC reached the spot and persuaded the villagers. The Sub-Collector also promised that one member of the deceased’s family will be recruited in MCL.
Later, police sent it for post-mortem. An investigation has been launched into the matter, sources said.
