New Delhi: The Delhi court on Monday has convicted Brajesh Thakur and 18 others under POCSO Act in Muzaffarpur shelter home rape case in Bihar.
They are charged with sexual and physical assault on several minor girls in the shelter home.
The Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Kulshreshtha convicted Thakur for sexual assault under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act.
News agencies quoting sources said that the court has acquitted one of the accused in the case. The prime accused Thakur was the owner of the NGO and a former MLA of Bihar People’s Party (BPP).
The incident came to light after the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) submitted a report to the Bihar government on May 26, 2018.
