New Delhi: As many as 4,14,188 people tested positive for Covid-19 across the country in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative caseload to 2,14,91,598, said the Union health ministry on Friday morning.
This is the biggest one-day spike in cases the country has seen so far and the most number of infections reported across the world.
The death count increased to 2,34,083 with 3,915 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.
Registering a steady increase, the active cases have increased to 36,45,164 comprising 16.92 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has dropped to 81.99 per cent.
So far 1,76,12,351 people have recovered from the disease.
