Bhubaneswar: Bibhuti Bhusan Biswal, professor of industrial design and dean (faculty welfare) at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela has been appointed as the new Director of NIT, Meghalaya by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Biswal headed the institute’s training and placement centre for over 12 years. He also headed the newly created industrial design department for four years and worked as dean (faculty welfare) for the past two years.
He also headed the Centre for Technology Innovation and Industry Relation, which deals with entrepreneurship development.
Biswal having a strong research and academic career of more than 31 years has graduated in Mechanical Engineering from VSSUT, Burla (formerly University College of Engineering) in 1985. He has completed his PhD from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
