A youth was found dead in a hotel room in Pokhariput under Airfield police limits in Bhubaneswar today. The deceased was identified as Bubuna Pradhan, a resident of Old Town.
Reports said Bubuna had checked into the hotel with his girlfriend, who hails from Nayagarh district. The couple had reportedly been in a live-in relationship for six months. Police recovered Bubuna’s body in a hanging condition inside the room.
Family members alleged foul play. They claimed Bubuna was murdered and accused the girlfriend of seeking help from other men to kill him. According to them, she called the family around 3 a.m. and informed them that Bubuna had become unconscious. When relatives reached the hotel, they found him dead.
Police sent the body for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. Investigators said they are probing all angles, including the possibility of murder. The girlfriend is currently missing, and police are searching for her.
The incident has sparked tension in the locality, with residents demanding a thorough probe. Authorities assured a strict investigation to uncover the circumstances behind Bubuna’s death.
