Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Capital, Bhubaneswar, recorded the highest maximum temperature in the country at 40.4 degrees Celsius.
An evening bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that apart from Bhubaneswar, the day temperature also rose sharply in most places in the state.
Cuttack city registered 37.5 degrees Celsius whereas Talcher and Malkangiri were at 38.7 and 38.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
The IMD has said the maximum day temperature will be above normal by 2-4 degrees at many places in Odisha soon.
